Three base bars

You will readily see that the composition is made up of broad horizontal stripes crossed by thin vertical lines - the trees. First to go down was the yellow sky, followed by the green. The bronze trees were the last to be laid out as there was more variation in this bar than the others. The yellow sky was pretty even but there were a few subtle variations in the green bar, produced by varying the direction of the brush strokes row by row.

I scratched the surface with the edge of my brush to suggest trees in this wood.
